S.O.S.

Give a dollar and help a country: The people of El Salvador have suffered two major earthquakes in less than two months. If the 34,000 Hispanic residents in Cumberland and nearby counties contributed at least a dollar each, can you imagine how much money could be sent to aid these victims? The Hispanic/Latino Center (222 Rowan St.) will take up a collection during March from Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. We are counting on your contribution to help the families in need in El Salvador.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

On January 26, we elected a new secretary, Mairelys Harrison, and three members of the Board of Directors, Liliana Wendorff, Karla Almendárez-Ramos and Reynaldo LaTorre. We are sure their work will be reflected in the Center's progress. The Board recognizes Violeta Taylor, María Velázquez-Constas and Katia Fraser for their contributions as active members for the past year. We also welcome Elsa Knobloch to our team.
