The Hispanic/Latino Center cordially invites you to its monthly meetings at its new location.

The Hispanic/Latino Center is a non-profit organization created to guide, coordinate and represent the Hispanic population of Cumberland and surrounding areas.  To operate, we need your support by way of: 1) a donation, 2) volunteering, or 3) serving on a committee.  We appreciate your interest and support.  For more information please call (910) 321-1492.

The Center cordially invites the community to its monthly meetings, the fourth Friday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for May 25th at: 351 Wagoner Drive, Suite 200, Smart Start Building.  Future meetings will be on: June 22nd, July 27th, August 24th, September 28th and October 26th at 6 p.m.  You may bring your friends and your children to the meetings.  There is a babysitter available during the meeting.

CELEBRATE CINCO DE MAYO at the Fayetteville Museum of Art, 12:00-7:00 p.m.  This festival is designed to welcome the vast Latino community that lives and works in Cumberland County.  We are extending an invitation to all citizens to celebrate along with those of Latino heritage.  There will be activities for the whole family.  This event is organized by the Lafayette Rotary Club, Fayetteville Museum of Art, the Hispanic/Latino Center and Habitat for Humanity.  Cost: adults $3, under 18 $1; free for children under 10.

Looking for a Job?

"Job Connection" is a program created especially to help the Hispanic community find work.  It is important for us to know about the needs of local businesses and agencies, in order to better offer our services.

More and more, organizations are seeking bilingual people who can identify with Hispanic culture and who can help promote their products and services.  At the same time, the needs of the Hispanic community are playing a bigger role in the community at large.

For this reason, everyone thinking of changing or finding a job is invited to bring his/her résumé to our First Job Fair, on June 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  For
